A Sci Fic Graphic Using Popplet (in progress)

I’ve been thinking about Science Fiction a lot lately. I’ve always been the type of person to go through reading phases. In approximately 2000 I remember I was in a Historical Fiction phase.  I couldn’t get enough of Jean Fritz’s novels.  I loved books set in Colonial Times and the Revolutionary War.

I was reading about vampires way before the TWILIGHT craze hit, starting with COMPANIONS OF THE NIGHT by Vivian Vande Velde.

I never would have called myself a Sci Fi fan. Even today if I’m asked, Science Fiction isn’t the answer on the tip of my tongue. I’ve decided the reason is because of the Sci Fi stigma. I’ve never considered myself a fan because I’m not crazy about Star Wars or Star Trek or other things like that.

But, when I look back at my Reading Logs I notice that I read a ton of Science Fiction. So, I’ve decided that I like certain types of Science Fiction. Science Fiction is a complex genre. I’m working on a presentation called Sci Fi For Teens and Tweens Who Don’t Like Sci Fi. In it I give book suggestions for people (like me) who say they don’t like Science Fiction. There are plenty of books in the genre that appeal to non-fans.

Please take the time to fill out this SUPER SHORT 6 question survey to help me out.

Thanks,
